This written around new year:
Pretty much I'm only interested in Wake Co. in terms of doing things because really that is the only venue in which things can be done on the ground.
We couldn't even have done it for Thigpen by our Wake Co. selves. Well, we could have by the numbers, but the problem with the Thigpen election was the other Dems who decided to run, everyone of them a stupid fool imo. The Reps were able to organize a strategy and made lemonade. The names of the stupid Dem fools for future reference: Stan Hammer, Mark Klass, Anne Middleton, Harry E Payne, John Sullivan. Tempted to throw hands in air and exclaim "What were they thinking." But I know what they were thinking. They were thinking "This is my chance." Fools. No such thing as party discipline in this party. Ah, Republican discipline. Too bad they're wrong about (almost) everything. Oh, well.
But the real screwup for the Ds in Wake was in our perennial inability to take over the county commission. We could, we have the numbers, always have. But we never do. What we gonna do, Wake Dems? Something that we are spending our time & money on is a waste of effort. Something we are not doing could be done. Maybe in those 50% of the precincts that are unorganized. So, we gonna have some door knocking in unknown territories this spring, find some?
